I woke up early one of the last Saturday mornings before the time change (and hence having to wake up even earlier if I had waited a week) and ventured to the Hillsboro Inlet. Thunderstorms formed offshore over the evening and blocked a lot of the sun from showing. In addition, the fishing boats were heading out for the morning and kept popping into the pictures with running and spreader lights streaking through the exposure.
I decided to give it 5 more minutes before leaving and the sun started to light the sky behind the clouds and the water in foreground in front of the lighthouse. I was able to snap a series of pictures before the sky was too bright to still soften the water.
The colors captured by the camera were amazing. All of the RAW files are processed in Adobe Lightroom with no photoshop effects or HDR. These are as taken in the camera with the help of Cokin ND filters at .3 and .9. Every now and then getting up at 5:30am pays off!
